Evernham to Hendrick company (AP)

CHARLOTTE, NC - former NASCAR Ray Evernham team leader has signed as a consultant for a company of Rick Hendrick van.

Evernham won three Championships in the 1990s as team leader for Jeff Gordon with Hendrick Motorsports. Now his Ray Evernham business society, to consult on special projects for Hendrick enterprises.

"Hendrick Performance parts and a racing pedigree will have cars and Ray is someone who will ensure that our customers and resellers", Hendrick said Tuesday.

Rick Hendrick formed Hendrick enterprises in 2005 to control strategic initiatives. Evernham role will be to help the development of the brand of retail performance high performance parts Hendrick vehicles, related products and services.

"Rick and I have lots of conversations over the years for our passion projects, and there are so many crossover with what we enjoy working," said Evernham. "We want a chance to do unique things, whatsoever with execution and parts of cars, dealer company or other ways to build brand Hendrick."

Evernham dropped to the Hendrick organization in 1999 its own forms of NASCAR team. More recently, he was an analyst for ESPN television.

The network said that evernham leaves ESPN for its new role with Hendrick.

"Ray is a valuable member of our team in NASCAR for the past three seasons, and wish him the best in his new role," said Rich Feinberg, Vice President for ESPN sports car ".

"If he wants to go back ever, we'd like to speak with him".
