Baseball, softball consider joint 2020 Olympic bid (AP)

NEW YORK - the International Federation of baseball and softball are working on a joint proposal in the hope of return for the two sports at the Olympic Games for the games by 2020.

The federations issued a joint statement Friday that they were analyzing the potential savings that can come from a part of Olympic venue and accommodation in the Olympic village in 2020.

By a vote in 2005, the two sports have been dropped since the Olympic Games and is not a party to the 2012 Games in London or the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.

The International Softball Federation and the International Baseball Federation said they could meet again next week at the SportAccord Convention in London to discuss their proposal.
